Stubblefield, Sir (Cyril) James (1901–1999), palaeontologist and geologist, was born on 6 September 1901 at 8 Melbourn Place, Cambridge, the only son and younger child of James Stubblefield (1853–1925), gardener, and his wife, Jane Goodier (1861–1941).
