Seddon family (per.c. 1750–1864), furniture makers, apparently hailed from Lancashire. According to his great-grandson the architect John Pollard Seddon, George [i] Seddon (c. 1727–1801) is thought to have gone to London about 1750. On his arrival there he established a cabinet-making firm that was to become the largest in the metropolis during the last quarter of the eighteenth century. ...
