Stephenson, Marjory (1885–1948), biochemist, was born on 24 January 1885 at High Town, Burwell, near Cambridge, fourth child and third daughter of Robert Stephenson (1847–1929), a successful farmer, and his wife, Sarah (1848–1925), daughter of Sam Rogers, jockey and trainer in Newmarket.
