Esmond, Henry Vernon [real name Harry Esmond Jack] (1869–1922), actor and playwright, was the fourth son in the family of fourteen children of Richard George Jack, physician, and his wife, Mary Rynd. He was born at Bridge House, Hampton Court, Middlesex, on 30 November 1869. Educated privately, he went on the stage in 1885, acting mainly in the provinces for four years.
