Roe, Sir Thomas (1581–1644), diplomat, was the only son of Robert Roe (1550–1587), haberdasher and landowner, and his wife, Eleanor (d. 1630), daughter of Robert Jermy of Antingham, Norfolk, and his wife, Anne Calthorpe.
