Mountain [Montaigne], George (1569–1628), archbishop of York, was born at Cawood, Yorkshire, the son of Thomas Montaigne or Mountain of Wistow in the same county. He matriculated as a sizar at Queens' College, Cambridge, in Michaelmas term 1586 and graduated BA in 1590.
