Michell, John (1724/5–1793), astronomer, was described as of Nottinghamshire on 17 June 1742, when he was admitted to Queens' College, Cambridge. He was elected a Bible clerk there on 23 January 1747, graduated (in mathematics) as fourth wrangler in 1748, was elected to a fellowship in 1749, and proceeded MA in 1752 and BD in 1761.
