The December 2018 update adds 13 articles, containing 14 biographies, accompanied by 5 portrait likenesses, on people active from the seventeenth to the early twenty-first centuries.

From December 2018, the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography (ODNB) offers biographies of 60,756 men and women who have shaped the British past, contained in 63,025 articles. 11,617 biographies include a portrait image of the subject – researched in partnership with the National Portrait Gallery, London. Read the full editorial introduction to this month’s update.
