Martindale, Louisa (1872–1966), gynaecologist and suffragist, the elder daughter of William Martindale (1833/4–c.1874), a City of London businessman, and Louisa Spicer [see Martindale, Louisa (1839-1914)], his second wife, was born at Gainsborough Lodge, Leytonstone, London, on 30 October 1872. Her father was an evangelical Anglican, her mother a Congregationalist. ...
