Ripa, Walter de (fl. 1218–1227), goldsmith and maker of seals, was probably a Londoner—the name de Ripa was fairly common in the early thirteenth-century city. Two entries in the close rolls name him in connection with the production of the king's seal, and on the basis of the lettering and figure-style on the seal it is possible to attribute others to him.
