Straub, Marianne (1909–1994), textile designer, was born on 23 September 1909 in Amriswil, Thurgau, Switzerland, the second of four daughters of Carl Straub (1871–1927), textile yarn merchant, and his wife, Cécile Kappeler (1881–1973).
