Landmann, Isaac (1741–1826), military educationist, was born on 17 March 1741 in Alsace. He taught projectiles and fortification at the École Royale Militaire in Paris, and, following the school's reorganization, tutored young noblemen of the same city in the art of war.

Lochée, Lewis (d. 1791), military educationist, was born in Brussels, the son of John Lochée and his wife, Theresa.
