Trapp, Joseph Burney (1925–2005), librarian, historian, and literary scholar, was born at Carterton in the southern part of North Island, New Zealand, on 16 July 1925, the son of (Henry Mansfield) Burney Trapp and his wife, Frances Melanie, née Wolters.
