Dowling, Thady (1543/4–1628), ecclesiastical administrator and antiquary, was probably a native of Laois, where the O'Dowlins or Dowlings were a landholding sept. Most of what is known of his life is derived from the brief autobiographical memoir (dated 12 March 1602) which was enclosed with his account of the Irish sees.
