Salomons, Edward (1828–1906), architect, was born in London, the sixth of fourteen children, seven sons and seven daughters, of German-Jewish cotton merchant Henry Moses Salomons (1794–1874) and his wife, British-born Priscilla Lucas (1801–1886).
