Williams, Glanville Llewelyn (1911–1997), jurist and law reformer, was born on 15 February 1911 at Tremayne, Cowbridge Road, Bridgend, Glamorgan, the only child of Benjamin Elwey Williams, a tailor and clothing manufacturer, and his wife, Gwladys, née Llewelyn, a schoolteacher at Pontypridd.
