Blundell, Francis Nicholas Joseph (1880–1936), politician and farmer, was born on 16 October 1880 at Altmouth, Alt Road, Hightown, near Liverpool, the first of the three children of Francis Nicholas Blundell (1853–1884), land agent, and his wife, Mary (Polly) Sweetman (1859–1930). Blundell was a prominent public figure between the wars whose main interests were agriculture and Roman Catholic causes.
