Trechmann, Charles Taylor (1884–1964), geologist and archaeologist, was born at 10 Cliff Terrace, Hartlepool, co. Durham, on 28 June 1884, the son of Karl (Charles) Otto Trechmann (1851–1917) and his wife, Gertrude Elizabeth, née Taylor.
