Moulton, Richard Green (1849–1924), extramural lecturer and literary critic, was born at 10 Charles Street, Preston, on 5 May 1849, the youngest of six children of James Egan Moulton (1805/6–1866), a well-known Wesleyan Methodist minister, and his wife, Catherine, née Fiddian.
