Bridge, Sir John (1824–1900), police magistrate, was born on 21 April 1824, the only son of John H. Bridge of Finchley, Middlesex. At Oxford, where he matriculated from Trinity College on 10 March 1842, he graduated BA with a first class in mathematics in 1846, and proceeded MA in 1849.
