Fotheringham, John Knight (1874–1936), historian and astronomer, was born on 14 August 1874 at St John's presbytery, Tottenham, Middlesex, the second son of David Fotheringham (1830–1918), a Presbyterian minister, and his wife, Jane Ross (1834–1917).
