Field, Sir (Arthur) Mostyn (1855–1950), naval officer and hydrographer, was born at Braybrooke, near Market Harborough, on 27 June 1855, the youngest of the three children of Lieutenant (later Captain) John Bousquet Field RN, and his wife, Cecilia, daughter of Thomas Mostyn of the army medical department.
