Ferrier, Kathleen Mary (1912–1953), singer, was born on 22 April 1912 at 1 Bank Terrace, Higher Walton, Walton-le-Dale, Lancashire, the third surviving child of William Ferrier, schoolmaster, and his wife, Alice Murray.
