Taylor, Edward (1784–1863), lecturer and writer on music, the son of John Taylor (1750–1826), a hymn writer and nonconformist minister, and his wife, Susanna Taylor (1755–1823) [see under Taylor, John (1750-1826)], a literary hostess, was born in Norwich on 22 January 1784.
