Nettleship, Henry (1839–1893), Latin scholar, was born on 5 May 1839 at Kettering, Northamptonshire, the eldest of the six sons of Henry John Nettleship (1807–1870), solicitor, of Kettering, and his wife, Isabella Ann (1818–1898), daughter of the Revd James Hogg.
