Lee, Robert (1793–1877), physician specializing in gynaecology and obstetrics, was born at Whitelaw in the parish of Melrose, Roxburghshire, the second son of John Lee, a major agriculturist. He was educated at Galashiels and entered Edinburgh University in 1806, aged thirteen and intended for the church, but then decided to devote himself to medicine. ...
