Ledwich, Edward (1739–1823), antiquary, was born in Nicholas Street, Dublin, on 29 March 1739, the son of John Ledwich, a merchant. He was educated in the diocesan school, and then at Trinity College, Dublin, which he entered on 22 November 1755. He graduated BA in 1760 and LLB in 1763.
