Barralet, John James (1747–1815), watercolour painter, was born in Dublin, and came of a French family. He was educated under James Mannin in the Dublin Society Schools, where he was awarded a premium in 1764. He specialized in landscapes, producing prosaic works with no hint of drama, although the trees are particularly well executed.
