Gordon [née Marjoribanks], Dame Ishbel Maria, marchioness of Aberdeen and Temair (1857–1939), philanthropist and vicereine

 Vicereine in Ireland and Canada, Lady Aberdeen was president of the International Council of Women and organized its London congress in 1899. She was awarded the freedom of Edinburgh in 1928 for her work in promoting the higher education of women.
