Anniversaries in 2022 include the tercentenary of the birth (the exact day and month are not known) of the Jacobite heroine, Flora MacDonald, remembered for her exploit in assisting the escape of the defeated claimant to the throne, Charles Edward Stuart. She sailed with the disguised prince from the island of South Uist to Skye in June 1746.
