Evans, Thomas Simpson (bap. 1777, d. 1818), mathematician, was baptized at Llangattock juxta Caerleon, Monmouthshire, on 12 August 1777, the eldest son of Lewis Evans (1755–1827), the curate of Ashbury, and his wife, Ann Norman.
