West, Frederick Walter Stephen [Fred] (1941–1995), murderer, was born on 29 September 1941 at Bickerton Cottage, Much Marcle, Herefordshire, the eldest surviving child of Walter Stephen West (1914–1992), an agricultural worker, and his wife, Daisy Hannah, née Hill (1923–1968).
