Mackenzie, Agnes Mure (1891–1955), historian and novelist, was born on 9 April 1891 at 24 South Beach Street, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, the eldest of the three children of Murdo Mackenzie, physician and surgeon, and his wife, Sarah Agnes Drake.
