Caroline Matilda, Princess (1751–1775), queen of Denmark and Norway, consort of Christian VII, was the ninth and youngest child of Frederick Lewis (1707–1751) and Augusta (1719–1772), prince and princess of Wales. She was born at Leicester House in London on 22 July 1751, a little more than four months after her father's unexpected death. Her childhood was spent within the defensive confines of the court of her mother. ...
