Burrow, Sir James (1701–1782), law reporter, was born on 28 November 1701, the son of Thomas Burrow (d. 1724) of Clapham, Surrey. In 1733, at the age of thirty-two, he succeeded to the post of master of the crown office, the reversion to which had been granted to him in 1724, and retained it until his death.
