Bruce, Sir Frederick William Adolphus Wright- (1814–1867), diplomatist, was the youngest son of Thomas Bruce, seventh earl of Elgin (1766–1841), and his second wife, Elizabeth (1790–1860), youngest daughter of James Townshend Oswald of Dunnikier, Fife.
