Brooke [née Colepeper], Elizabeth, Lady Brooke (1602?–1683), exemplar of godly life, was born in Wigsell, Sussex, the daughter of Thomas Colepeper (d. 1613) and his wife, Anne (d. 1602), daughter of Sir Stephen Slaney (1524–1609), alderman of London.
