Hobday, Sir Frederick Thomas George (1870–1939), veterinary surgeon, was born at Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, on 3 November 1870, the eldest son of Thomas Hobday, a brewer's manager for Messrs Bass, and Mary Newbold, his wife.
