Bone, Sir Muirhead (1876–1953), printmaker and draughtsman, was born on 23 March 1876 at 1A Hamilton Terrace West, Partick, Glasgow, the fourth of eight children of David Drummond Bone (1841–1911), journalist, and his wife, Elizabeth Millar Crawford (1847–1886), the daughter of a tailor.
