Wright, Robert (1560–1643), bishop of Coventry and Lichfield, was born in St Albans, Hertfordshire. He matriculated from Trinity College, Oxford, on 11 November 1574, aged fourteen, and that year was elected a scholar. He graduated BA on 13 June 1580, became a college fellow in the following year, and proceeded MA on 7 July 1584, BD on 6 April 1592, and DD in July 1597.
