Weston, Richard (bap. 1732, d. 1806), writer on agriculture, was baptized on 13 July 1732 at St Martin, Leicester, the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Weston. He started out in life as a thread-hosier in Leicester. He took a keen interest in agriculture and gardening, and promoted the planting of trees, particularly alongside turnpike roads as an investment for future generations. In 1773 he was living at ...
