Tooke, Thomas (1774–1858), economist, born at Kronstadt, Russia, on 28 February 1774, was the eldest son of William Tooke (bap. 1744, d. 1820), then chaplain to the British factory at Kronstadt, and his wife, Elizabeth, daughter of Thomas Eyton. William Tooke was his younger brother. ...
