Sterne, Richard (1595/6–1683), archbishop of York, was the son of Simon Sterne of Mansfield, Nottinghamshire (whose father, William, is said to have migrated there from Suffolk), and his wife, Margery, daughter of Gregory Walker of Mansfield.
