Sheridan [née Chamberlaine], Frances (1724–1766), novelist and playwright, was born in Dublin, the daughter of the Revd Dr Philip Chamberlaine, prebendary of Rathmichael, archdeacon of Glendalough, and rector of St Nicholas Without, and his wife, Anastasia Whyte.
