Richard [Richard of Fountains] (d. 1170), abbot of Fountains, was elected to that office in 1151. During the later middle ages he was reckoned as the fourth, not the sixth, abbot, neither Maurice (1147–8) nor Thorold (1148–50) being considered worthy of commemoration.
