Rees, Rice (1804–1839), historian, son of David and Sarah Rees, was born at Ton in the parish of Llandingad, Carmarthenshire, on 31 March 1804. From 1819 he was educated at Lampeter grammar school. He matriculated at Oxford, from Jesus College, in May 1822. He graduated BA in 1826, MA in 1828, and BD in 1837.
