Lenthall, William, appointed Lord Lenthall under the protectorate (1591–1662), lawyer and speaker of the House of Commons, was born in June 1591 at Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, the second son of William Lenthall (d. 1596) and Frances Southwell.
