Jellett, John Hewitt (1817–1888), college head, the son of Morgan Jellett, a clergyman, was born at Cashel in co. Tipperary on 25 December 1817, and educated at Trinity College, Dublin, of which he became a fellow in 1840. He graduated BA in 1838, MA in 1843, BD in 1866, and DD on 1 March 1881.
