Hugh of Lincoln [St Hugh of Lincoln, Hugh of Avalon] (1140?–1200), bishop of Lincoln, was the son of Guillaume d'Avalon, a Burgundian aristocrat, and Anne, daughter of the lord of Theys. He was probably born at Avalon near Grenoble.
