Head, Sir George (1782–1855), commissariat officer, was born at The Hermitage in the parish of Higham, near Rochester, Kent, the son of James Roper Head (formerly Mendes; 1757–1814) and his wife, Frances Anne, daughter of George Burges. Sir Francis Bond Head was his younger brother. ...
